staff-sbdd

The team at the Devonian Veterinary Clinic and Devon Spay/Neuter Clinic is made up of Veterinarians, Animal Health Technologists and Animal Assistants.  Each member of our team is a valued and important part of making our patients comfortable and happy.  Our staff is dedicated to providing the best care for all of our patients. Our staff of Veterinarians and Technologists have a broad range of experience and skills.

Animal Health Technologists

BrandyCarty

Brandy Carty AHT
As a local Devon resident you can find her walking her husky Star around town, or occasionally her cat Fortune!  Brandy has worked in veterinary practice since her graduation from NAIT in 2001. Her experiences include day to day veterinary practice as well as emergency clinic work.

Brandy, her husband Ryan and twin daughters are local Devon residents and both enjoy the small community lifestyle that Devon provides.

Brandy is an important part of the Devonian Veterinary Clinic team. Her limitless energy and positive attitude help to keep all aspects of our practice running smoothly.

Brandy is once again expecting another addition to her family and this little bundle of surprises should be arriving in the fall.  Brandy will still be stopping by the clinic to say hi to staff and clients as often as she can, but is anticipating taking some time off to get to know her new little person when they arrive.  Luckily there is only 1 this time!

SheilaMaichen

Sheila Maichen AHT
Sheila brings her well honed skills and wonderful personality to the clinic. She graduated with honours from NAIT in 2004. Sheila has been a solid member of our team since August 2004.

She is an example of how to raise large dogs, as she has shared her home and life with up to 3 rottweilers at one time! Sheila's dog Cyrus is a marvelous example of obedience training. Cyrus has completed 3 levels of obedience training and is on hand signals alone now.

Sheila, her husband Karl and their sons Owen & Kael, live on an acreage in rural Alberta.

Michele Weldon AHT

MicheleMichele has been a long time cheery and valued personality at the  Devonian Veterinary Clinic. Our team effort relies on Michele's support as an experienced full time Technologist.  Not only did she graduate from NAIT in 2000, but she has done more than 18 years of rescue work with several wildlife and reptile clubs in the Edmonton area.  Michele and her husband are very active in the Edmonton Reptile Society.  Once Michele's daily activities are done at the clinic she is far from done her day!  She is very active in many rescue organizations and volunteer groups.  She is one very busy woman!

We all look to Michele to support the Technologists and Veterinarians with a dedication to animal care. Her attention to details for animal treatments and surgeries is unsurpassed and Michele is the gold standard for recycling in our clinic.

Lesley

Lesley Jones

Lesley joined the Devonian Veterinary Clinic as a volunteer 2008 and quickly became a permanent part of our team!  Her wonderful disposition and great client service skills quickly proved her to be a valuable asset to our clinic. Lesley has a wonderful dog named Joon who quickly taught Lesley about food allergies in pets, so if you are feeling alone about this particular issue, she can relay some of her own personal experiences with you and answer questions you might be have.

Lesley will be leaving the team to explore alternative oppertunities mid September but we hope to see her come back from time to time to say hello and brighten our day!

Jennelle Russell

 Jennelle Russell

Jennelle joined our team in the fall of 2008.  She rotates between helping in the back treatment area holding animals, assisting the veterinarians and clients as well as day to day administrative tasks.  Her boundless energy and never-ending good mood make every day a pleasure to be at work!  Jenelle's guilty pleasure in life is swim training and competetive water polo!

Jennelle is once again back to her studies for the winter.  We are lucky enough to have her visit us a couple saturdays a month and keep us up to date on all the latest advancements in the world of Animal Health Technology! We are excited to have Jennelle return to us in the spring as a fully licensed AHT!
